Lincoln, Neb. – The athletes competing in the 2010 Special Olympics USA National Games arrive at Duncan Aviation. The Cessna Airlift takes place during a twelve hour time period. Citation planes donated by owners for the event land or take-off every 60 to 90 seconds.

Upon arrival, athletes are greeted by cheering volunteers and fans and welcomed to the state of Nebraska. Volunteers escort athletes into the Danley Building at Duncan Aviation.

Inside the Danley Building, athletes check-in and take in their surroundings. There is music and dancers and clowns perform for athletes. Homer, the mascot for the Lincoln Saltdogs baseball team, took photos with competitors as well. Athletes enjoy food and beverages supplied by sponsors before shuttles transport them to their living quarters on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.
