Kyle Russell, 16, Saint Mary’s County, Md., won a bronze medal in the men’s 50-meter freestyle finals on Wednesday. Russell, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was four, has undergone several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatment to eliminate two more tumors. Russell made his high school swim team as a freshman this year, with no special considerations by his coach.
