Mike and Theresa Book watch Arkansas play Nebraska White. Their son Addison, 14, is a Special Olympics athlete at the state level. The family traveled from Piggott, AR, to Lincoln to be spectators, because Addison dreams of competing in aquatics at the national level.

“Hopefully he’ll be picked to be on the Arkansas National team someday,” Theresa Book said.

She added that Special Olympics has much to offer to the athletes and their families.

“It’s been great for us,” Mike Book said. “Arkansas Special Olympics does so much for our kids.”

The Arkansas Special Olympics Family of the Year also has a younger daughter, Savannah, who competes in the State Games.
